OPINION - Why do people on the Left feel they can racially abuse Tory women of colour like Priti and me?

My 2022 started off with a telling encounter. Last week I went out to dinner in a trendy members’-only club on the Strand with a senior minister who happens to be a woman of colour: the Home Secretary, Priti Patel. As we sat eating our sea bass and chatting, a woman came over and abused Priti because, she said, the country was going to hell, what with Brexit and a sense of disconnect.
